Jay Shetty recently shared an exercise that we can take to let go of anger and find peace. Before starting the exercise, we need to first visualize (or imagine) ourselves in the other person’s shoes so that we can then write a letter of forgiveness. Basically, the idea is to experience sonder, and then follow these steps:
- Make a list of how the other person did you wrong.
- List own shortcomings.
- Record self reading it and listen as an objective observer. Notice that there is pain in both people.
This exercise will help you start the process of forgiving yourself or other people.
